Food Bank

Community members in need have been given access to free fresh produce during the growing season through our donations to the local Food Bank. The Community Garden maintains several plots exclusively for the Food Bank and, on average, 20 pounds of fresh produce are donated by the Community Garden one or twice per week.

We recently started our fruit tree plot by grafting our young heritage apple trees with 100 year old local heirloom varieties!  Bringing back the Surface Creek Valley's famous apples!

In order to extend our growing season and provide more produce, we are building Hoop House greenhouses at the community garden.
